Being a storyteller, I put a great deal of stock in the clarity and meaning of the words we choose to describe what we are trying to communicate.  Meta-story is about the "story" and Transmedia is about the "Media."

Meta-story and Transmedia have a close relationship.  Meta-story prepares the story for Transmedia distribution but with a focus on creator driven excellence that can only come from the singular act of creation.

Meta-story – “Meta-story is a narrative created to treat all the different formats and media as a single, seamless storytelling canvas using each expression's unique strengths and abilities.  the Meta-story is the larger story from which all media expressions draw"

Transmedia - "Transmedia storytelling represent a process where integral element of a fiction get dispersed systematically across multiple delivery channels for the purpose of creating a unified and coordinated entertainment experience"  (Quote by Henry Jenkin, the father of the Transmedia concept)
